Where's the Tape?

It never fails.

As soon as I get settled into wrapping presents, the tape disappears.

Anyone else have this problem?

I've got everything nice and neat around me.

Wrapping paper, labels, tape, pen, tissue paper.

I use the tape to wrap the first gift.

But then, when I turn around to grab it for the next gift, it's gone!

It's one of the great mysteries in life, I think.

And practically a Christmas tradition at this point.

I bought extra rolls of tape this year.

Just in case.

Now when I lose one, I get up and grab another one.

Do whatever it takes to get everything wrapped and under the tree.

Sometimes I find that roll of tape after I'm done wrapping.

Hiding under the couch, or stuffed between the pile of tissue paper that was next to me the whole time.

Most of the time, though, I cannot find that tape for the life of me.

When the boys were younger, I would have suspected that they were taking the tape just to mess with me.

But now? They aren't even here when I'm wrapping.

Maybe it's my cat. Although if it's not something she can eat, she's usually not too interested in it.

Either way, somewhere in my house are a dozen rolls of tape that I've lost over the years.

At this point, the only thing I can do is shake my head and laugh.

There's no use letting it frustrate me.
