So Many Reasons to Dance

When is the last time you danced for no reason? Just let your happy show?
A few weeks ago, Brian and I were out running errands.
We came up to a stop light and there was a woman on a motorcycle in front of us.
We had to do a double-take.
She was wearing a giant, fuzzy, rabbit head over her helmet. Or at least that's what we think it was; it was hard to tell because we couldn't see the front of her very well.
And she was dancing in her seat. With full-on arm movements and everything.
Talk about enjoying life!
She continued to rock out after the stop light turned green and she went on her way.
Not a care in the world.
She didn't give a single thought to what the people in the cars around her might be thinking.
I loved it!
We spend so much time caught up in all of the stuff we have to do - so focused on moving forward that we forget to stop and look around us.
We let the days go by without a single dance move.
I'm realizing more and more as I get older that life's too short for that.
And that there are way too many things to celebrate!
So my blog post today is a request to all of you.
Find something every day that makes you want to dance.
I'll get you started with a few ideas:
All the traffic lights were green on your way home
Your grocery store had everything on your list so you didn't have to make two trips
There's a wonderful pet/human being at home who can't wait to see you
The dishes are done and the house is clean and it's only 8:00
Your work day went by without a single crisis
The sun is shining
You woke up this morning
It's really that simple.
This life is a miracle.
That alone is a reason to dance.
Let's all pause in our pursuit of happiness and take a minute to just be happy.
I'll see you on the dance floor!
