Small Steps Every Day

Some days it feels like we have mountains to climb.

We look ahead of us and life looms large.
Every single day filled with decisions, logistics, and milestones.
It can be exhausting.
We stumble a few times along the way, for sure.
But for the most part, we manage to put one foot in front of the other.
And we keep moving forward.
Until one day...
We look around us.
And there's this beautiful life we've created.
Filled with stories and memories, laughter and tears.
Surrounded by people we love more than we ever knew we could.
All because we took small steps every day.
I was at a beautiful wedding yesterday.
The union of two amazing young people with a bright future ahead.
It reminded me of just how wonderful life can be.
And how important it is to spend a few hours laughing and dancing and smiling until your cheeks hurt.
Celebrating new chapters and being grateful for all that has come before this moment, and excited for everything ahead.
I always say that life is a series of ordinary moments.
And those moments make it extraordinary.
It can be easy to lose sight of that when we're just living day to day, trying to keep up.
We have to stop every once in awhile and look back at how far we've come.
Marvel at the journey we've been on and the distance we've covered.
The experiences we've had, both good and bad. And the lessons they have taught us.
All because we keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Taking those small steps every day.
That's the way to climb mountains.
Even the tallest ones.
