You Are Amazing!

A few years back, I bought one of those mini light-up marquees online.

Just because I thought it would be fun.

I had visions of putting up a clever saying every week to motivate our family.

When it came, I put it in my office and then promptly forgot about it.

Best laid plans, right??

Then one day, I sat down at my desk and noticed it was plugged in and lit up.

On the board, it said "You Are Amazing!"

Along with some fun emojis for emphasis.

Jacob had taken it out of the box and set it up for me.

I think he was 15 or 16 when he did that. Not exactly sure with how fast the years are going by, but I guess that doesn't even really matter.

What matters is that it made me smile. Especially the poop emoji.

That's so inline with his sense of humor.

You Are Amazing!

Bright and bold and in my face.

I think we need those reminders sometimes.

Because life is hard.

And because we don't always feel amazing.

There are days when it feels like everything goes wrong.

That no matter what decisions we make, they are never the right ones.

Days when we want to just crawl back into bed and not come out until the next day when we can start over again.

But through it all, you know what?

We really are amazing.

Navigating life and it's constant changes. Loving and supporting our family and friends as best we can.

Trying to be the best version of ourselves.

So often, we focus only on the things we don't get right.

Instead of pausing to think about all of the ones we do.

What if we all had a sign that greeted us every day with this reminder?

You Are Amazing!

It might just help us remember that we are.
